What can be recycled?
- Clean, broken laboratory glass and broken bottles.
- Domestic glass must not enter this stream as there is a large cost associated with disposal (domestic glass could be recycled at low cost).
- Any contaminated glass should be disposed of appropritely depending upon the type of contamination.

Where do I put clean lab glass?
- Stored in the red, broken glass receptacle in the lab.
- Any contaminated glass should be disposed of appropritely depending upon the type of contamination.
Who empties the container?
- Taken by a cleaner with responsibility to a store area (Blackett, SAF or Bessemer).
- Lab bins are checked weekly and emptied as necessary.
What happens then?
- A specialist contractor collects the glass for disposal.
- Collections are made when necessary (arranged by the waste co-ordinator).
How Green is this Route?
- The containers and carts are re-used.
